Adolescent / Teen Psychotherapy

Adolescent / Teen Psychotherapy

Discovering and honing a teenagers' strengths

Adolescence is a stage of life where teenagers start puberty, where studies become more difficult and challenging, and a time where teens face more emotional concerns such as worrying a lot and feeling sad more often than not. It is also a time where they start learning how to be more independent.

Insights Psychology Services provides a safe space for a teenager to share what they are going through, whether stress with academic studies, friendship issues, problems with socialising and development of self identity.

Adolescent psychotherapy, or teen therapy, with an experienced Psychologist will assist the teenager in developing and using their emotional toolkit, so they have skills to manage problems independently.

Parent coaching or parent consultation may sometimes be used in conjunction with individual therapy with the teenager.

Psychologist, Ms Amy Ng, can support a teenager going through the following:

  • Autism Spectrum Conditions (including Asperger's Syndrome)

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Persistent demand avoidance (PDA)

  • Depressive disorders

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Low self esteem

  • Friendship issues

  • Academic stress
